Beit Bridge Juicing Private Limited is working with 6 commercial farmers and has partnered with CESVI, European Union, GIZ and Nottingham Estate to develop an outgrower scheme which has benefited more than 200 families in the Beitbridge area.
We process high quality, musky citrus and passion fruit products from home grown produce in Beitbridge. Ripe fruits in these natural lands are harvested and delivered fresh by haulage trucks and the following successive processing steps are followed.
RECEIVING, WASHING AND SORTING
Received fruits are funnelled through to the washer on to the escalator. From the washer all fruits are passed through a slow moving conveyer belt for sorting. Broken and non-conforming fruits are picked out by factory workers out of the line.
Each fruit is dropped into a ring of metal prawns, which squeezes out the juices then ejects the peel. Two products are produced simultaneously which are fruit pulp and juice. The thick, creamy pulp is filled into bin liners as an ingredient for fruit pulpy juices and cordials.
Extracted juice is concentrated in a blender where excess water is evaporated to raise the sweetness of the juice measured in Brix. The concentrate is raised to the desired brix level to meet the requirements of our different customers.
The juice concentrate is filled into drums with liners and palletised for safe storage and is ready for shipping to customers for further processing. No preservatives and additives are added therefore, we store our products under-regulated temperatures to maintain the natural freshness.
